The patient, born in 1947, was admitted to the clinic with a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, moderate course, complicated by angiopathy of the lower limb vessels, retinopathy, and nephropathy. Comorbid conditions include chronic colitis and hemorrhoids.
Complaints upon admission: dry mouth, weakness, quick fatigue, sweating, itching, cold extremities, discomfort in the pancreas area, slow wound healing, constipation.
History: The patient has been ill for 2 years, with the onset of the disease associated with stress. Previous treatment: diet, taking Maninil 1 tablet twice a day for the last 3-4 months. No effect from therapy, and the disease is progressing.
Objective data: General condition is relatively satisfactory, body weight exceeds normal by 20%. Skin is pale with an earthy hue, rash under the breasts and around the genitals. The spine is tender to palpation in the lumbar area, knee and ankle joints are painful, the face is swollen, eyelids are puffy. Blood pressure is 130/80. The tongue is coated with a white film at the root. Abdomen is tender to palpation in the left hypochondrium and around the navel. The liver protrudes 0.5 cm below the costal margin, painless on palpation, medium density, sharp edge, smooth surface. Pain is noted on palpation of the pancreas. The Pasternack's sign is positive on both sides. Urination is free but frequent, with nocturia, polyuria, and incontinence.
Laboratory-instrumental tests: blood sugar 9.2, urine sugar 1%, fibrinogen 2.42, PTI 100, ultrasound – pancreas contours are smooth, unclear, echostructure is homogeneous, the gland is diffusely thickened, dimensions 2.6 x 1.3 x 2.4.
EAF data: Pancreas meridian: protein metabolism temperature 15, nucleoprotein synthesis temperature 87, pancreas duct temperature 72, carbohydrate enzyme synthesis temperature 41, KT 49; indicators on the vascular system meridian range from 69-71, nerve system meridian: parasympathetic ganglion temperature on the left 22; allergy meridian control point on the right 33, left 14, endocrine system meridian control point on the right 70, left 31.
Treatment: KL locally on the pancreas area before and after treatment for 5 minutes, twice a day for 3 weeks; GI general for 15 to 30 minutes for 2 weeks; GI + ZB locally on the liver, adrenal glands, intestines, spine, pancreas for 3-5 minutes for 3 weeks; ZB general for 5-7-10 minutes every 2 days starting from the 2nd week of treatment.
Treatment specifics: During therapy, intravenous Reopolyglukin solution was used once. The Maninil dosage was reduced by half (0.5 tablet twice a day) by the end of the 2nd week, and Maninil tablets were completely discontinued by the end of the 3rd week.
Result: After one week of therapy, the patient’s overall condition improved, blood pressure normalized, the tongue was cleared of the coating, urination and stool normalized, urine sugar was 0.5%, joint pain disappeared after 2 weeks, abdominal palpation became painless, liver was no longer palpable, Pasternack’s sign negative on both sides, blood sugar decreased to 7.8 mmol/l. By the end of the 3rd week, body weight decreased by 5%, skin cleared, lumbar spine pain disappeared, and swelling reduced. On ultrasound, the pancreas contour was clear, the echostructure was homogeneous, and the size was 2.5 x 1.3 x 2.4. EAF parameters normalized. Blood sugar was 5.2 mmol/l, urine sugar absent, fibrinogen 2.02, PTI 89.
